A Taste of South Africa!

The Quick Tour to South Africa will give you a taste of all this wonderful country has to offer. From the large cities of Johannesburg and Pretoria, to the renowned Kruger National Park game reserve and the grand finale in the spectacular Cape Town.

Itinerary for the Quick Tour of South Africa

Day 1: Saturday - JOHANNESBURG to PRETORIA

Arrival in Johannesburg and transfer to the hotel.

14h00 you will be met in the foyer by your tour guide. Orientating city tour of Pretoria with a visit to the Voortrekker Monument and the Kruger House Museum.

Bed and Breakfast: Holiday Inn Express, Pretoria or similar *

Day 2: Sunday - PRETORIA to KRUGER NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast we drive east towards the Kruger National Park.

It is one of the renowned game reserves in the world. With a length of 325 km and a width of 80 km the Kruger National Park covers with its 20 000 square meter a 1.7% total area of South Africa.

It is the biggest game reserve of South Africa. The “Arc of Noah”, which is a nickname for the park, is home to more than 140 mammals and 500 bird species.

You can see the “Big Five” – lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo, plus other wild cats eg. Cheetah, many antilope (Impala, kudu, waterbuck) and wild dogs.

In the afternoon game drive on the Thanda Nani Game Reserve.

Day 3: Monday - KRUGER NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast you will do a full day game viewing tour in open vehicles in the Kruger National Park.

An interesting day in nature and the fascinating animal world.

Day 4: Tuesday - KRUGER NATIONAL PARK

Another game drive on the Thanda Nani Game Reserve before breakfast.

Thereafter you drive along the spectacular Panorama Route and you stop at God’s Window, where on a clear day you will be able to see the surrounding mountains plus the “Lowveld” below. Via  Bourk’s Luck Potholes with its unusual rock formations, which have been washed out over thousands of years, you continue to one of the natural wonders of South Africa – the Blyde River Canyon. Enjoy the view on the 16 km Canyon, a massive gorge where 700 m deep down the river is flowing.

Day 5: Wednesday - MPUMALANGA to JOHANNESBURG to CAPE TOWN

After breakfast you return to Johannesburg.

Flight to Cape Town towards the evening (not included in price)

Upon arrival in Cape Town you will be welcomed by your guide and transferred to the hotel.

Day 6: Thursday - CAPE TOWN

Today you will drive to Table Mountain station. You can go up the mountain with the cable way, but it is very weather dependant and therefor not included in the price. At the moment it is +- 20 Euro.

Walk to the various viewing points and enjoy the sights which you will never forget. Once you are down the mountain you will drive to the Cape Malay area and into the centre of town to the Company Gardens. We then continue to the “Castle of Good Hope”. The excursion is ending either at the hotel or at the V&A Waterfront (please note if you want to stay at the Waterfront you have to make your own way back to the hotel)

Day 7: Friday - CAPE TOWN

A full day tour to the Cape Point is planned for today. You drive to the fisher town Hout Bay, where you will have a short break. From there you head for the Cape Nature Reserve. Enjoy the view from the viewing point where they say that two Oceans are meeting, which is not really the truth. We continue along the False Bay to Simon’s Town, where we visit the penguins at Boulder’s Beach. We return to Cape Town via Fisch Hoek.

Day 8: Saturday - CAPE TOWN

The day is at leisure to do your own sightseeing tours. **

** Optional: Halfday excursion to the Kirstenbosch Gardens and Signal Hill.

You visit the Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden. The aim at Kirstenbosch Gardens is to protect the vegetation of South Africa. Approximately 6000 plant species are protected and cultured here. Amongst the plants are very old cycads, many proteas, erica plants and ferns.

The garden offerings a colourful display throughout the year.

Then we continue to Signal Hill, from where you have a beautiful view over the city.

Day 9: Sunday - CAPE TOWN to JOHANNESBURG to FRANKFURT/M.

The morning is at leisure. Depending on the flight the transfer to the airport takes place.
